HotShot's Boom Boom Hendo
aka "Brownie" (because everyone loves brownies), and "Otter"
Hendo came from a small breeder in Iowa (the same one that Roxy came from). Todd chose this particular breeder because of the strong blood lines of successful hunting dogs they produce and the aesthetic builds/good conformation to breed standards of their dogs. Both of Hendo's parents are Master Hunter certified through the AKC. Todd refers to these type of dogs as "throw-back dogs" that were bread for working in the field rather than for show or just solely companionship.
Hendo was born on 7/1/19 and was named after MMA fighter Dan "Hendo" Henderson. As his second nickname implies, he loves the water, is a very strong swimmer and will retrieve anything in the water. Sensitive and intuitive, he is a very loyal companion and is great with children and puppies/smaller dogs. He is a beautiful liver roan with a very sleek and shiny coat. His more muscular build tops him out around 65 lbs. The first litter he sired with Roxy in 2020 turned out to be full of some amazing puppies, including ones that are now successfully used in the field. The puppies had a mix of his temperament and Roxy's prey drive, giving them the best of both worlds.
Hotshot's Smokin' Joe Rogan
aka "Forest”
Rogan came from a small breeder in Tennessee who employs Biosensory training with their puppies to promote optimal development into superior dogs. His parents are two very good-looking GSP's who live in the home with the family. Rogan had the coloring that Todd wanted (mostly white and liver with minimal ticking) and a muscular build even as a puppy. He was born on 3/29/22.
Rogan displays a very strong prey drive and an exceptional nose. His memory/recall is also outstanding, which made him very easy to train. He is at the top end of the normal range for GSP's as his very muscular build has him at 71 lbs and slightly taller than Hendo. Like Hendo, he is also an extremely loyal companion. He loves to cuddle up as close as he can possibly get. Although a bit high-strung at times and into EVERYTHING, he has been a precious addition to our family and has sired some amazing puppies.
